Which Sunscreen Should I Use?
With sunscreens in the news this week, and summer approaching, you may be confused as to whether the sunscreen you are using is safe.
Rest assured, we have you covered. We carry 4 different types of mineral sunscreens that only contain titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that reflect and scatter harmful UVA and UVB rays away from the skin, and do not absorb into the skin. Our sunscreens are also reef-friendly and FREE of chemical sunscreens, dyes, fragrances, oils and preservatives.
Why is a mineral sunscreen important? A recent FDA study shows that certain chemical SPF ingredients are absorbed into the bloodstream after just one day of use, and FDA has asked for additional safety testing on these and other chemical SPF ingredients. FDA deems the mineral sunscreen ingredients titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to be safe and effective based on existing data.
Let’s set the record straight. It’s always better to use sunscreen protection than to skip it. BUT … choose a formulation which contain only Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. They are 100% free of chemical sun filters.
